If it causes your computer to start to slow, go to the start menu , select run, where it says open type msconfig . That should open up the system configuration utility. From there press the start up tab and uncheck any programs that you don't want to open during start up. After that the next time you start your computer, it should take less time to start up.

If you don't want to use it ever again you can uninstall the program by going to Start %26gt; Control Panel %26gt; Add or Remove Programs %26gt; Add/Remove Windows Components and unchecked Windows Messenger.
If you use it but it cause your computer to take too long to start... er, there is another way but I don't remember how.. ^^ hehe..

I had the same problem you should try to click start than control panel than add or remove programs but if you still want to have messenger you might want to sign in to the different site than you will be signet out of the messenger you have than you wont have to wait long l hope this was helpful by.
