How do you make Windows Live Messenger quit popping up whenever you log on to your computer?

To disable programs that run on startup you can go to My Computer %26gt; Local Harddrive(usually C) %26gt; Documents and Settings %26gt; All Users/Your Name(depends on if the program is installed to run for all users on the computer or just you) %26gt; Start Menu %26gt; Programs %26gt; Startup.

This folder contains shortcuts to the programs that will run on startup. Deleting a shortcut will stop the program from starting up with the computer. It does not delete the program itself incase you ever wish to use it again.
