I cant sign in windows live messenger ..?

i dont have any problems but i cant sign in , dont know why ? i redownloaded it but nothing happened .. i created a new account because i thought the problem is with the old one but nothing changed .. i noticed that when i typed my password which is 6 characters 6 stars appeared, but when i clicked on sign in buttom they turned into 8 stars !!!! this happens in each time i try signing in .. my sister and nephew tried that and we had same problem .. i dont know why ? what to do ? i didnt face this problem before .. it was working well !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had pretty much the same problem when I installed it on my NEW PC last week while setting everything up........ tried using basic "Windows Messenger" that comes shipped with Windows XP instead, and that logged in no probs.

You can now also add MSN Messenger contacts to your YAHOO Messenger buddylists....... which I much prefer anyway, since Yahoo Messenger is vastly superior to MSN (the damn thing actually works for starters!).

Well Yahoo! messenger support Windows Live Messenger if you could sign in to Yahoo! messenger that's all you need. You could download the full version directly via http://download.yahoo.com/dl/msgr8/us/ym... the latest as of this time of writing. Once you logon to Yahoo! you could add you Windows Live Messenger you could chat with out any problems as long as other person is also using Windows Live Messenger or Yahoo! Messenger.

Regarding Windows Live Messenger it tries to protect your privacy by not showing the actual characters you have entered it's same in the dial up connection irrespective of the characters in the password it shows some predefined no of characters.

If you are on Linux quite likely that you have already Gaim which is having a capability of chatting with multiple networks. If you are in Windows try to get a portable version of Gaim via http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/ga... and see if you can logon.
