All these updates... and what? Nothing has changed at all... can't they do something super cool? I mean, it can't be that hard! Can it? It's just a little window with some contacts in it... With all of Microsoft's staff members, I'm sure at least some would'nt mind coming into work and doing somehting...

Ye your dam right Microsoft should make a wicked one that says out for a year when i tested 8.0 beta 1 it was wicked but then a week later they took the nice round edges and but square windows and some weird textures

i thought it would be really good but i actually prefer the older version, i dont like how you cant see people's pictures until they are on screen and how the offline man is grey not red lol

Actually in many ways I have to agree with your sentiments. Microsoft is a really big organisation. Vista had over 10,000 people working on it. It is hard to see why their stuff is so lacking in innovation these days. It is so mediocre. The interfaces never inspire, even the ribbon interface in the latest office was in several of my other non MS programs for ages before.
I used to be inspired by new stuff coming out even from MS. These days it is just one big yawn. It is fun and a bit anarchic but I am really getting into the open source stuff, sometimes the lack of polish is actually part of the reason I like it, you devour new releases as soon as they come to see what has been added or improved. With MS, it is all such a non event!
