Does anyone know how I could fix that? (maybe i should also mention that i have a ACER computer, i'm sure if that's a factor at all but there it is)

windows live messenger is all trouble and nothing else...
but i think ....that theres something missing in its software code....
but i dont really know....
you try to remove it completely from your computer at add/remove program from control panel...
then try to install it again...and see if it works...
thats all i can say....
