Why do i keep loosing connection to Yahoo Messenger and Windows Live Messenger?

I am not loosing connection to the internet because other applications work find(downloads/browsers) but my messengers seem to be loosing connection every 5 minutes or so and not at the same time.

Maybe the current versions of each program don't like being run at the same time. It sounds like a conflict between the two.
