click on start menu then go to control panel then add or remove programs then click on that scrol down to where live messnger is then click on that to remove that hope this helps

Right click on the one you don't want anymore and say EXIT. However, it will reload (if it is in Startup) every time your PC is turned off and on again.
An easier way is to try and delete the icon on the desktop or where ever you have it and it will ask you if you want to delete the whole thing from the system. then just press the link and it takes oyu straight there.
No matter if your using XP Vista..
